I'm pretty disappointed in C.J.'s decision to ban kcdad, using the "internet troll" labeling as his reason.
When one decides to do a blog, an assumption should be made that you will have someone leaving a comment or opinion that will go against your beliefs, values or morals. That doesn't happen a lot here because this site doesn't have the intelligent, well-written and researched posts that the Peoria Chronicle has.
From what I've observed, C.J. doesn't agree with a lot of things that kcdad posts. You can either debate or ignore these points and even delete posts that you find offensive. But banning that person? That's a little overboard, IMO.
Carry on.
I don't know either party well enough to make specific comments on either side ... and I doubt I would take sides anyway ... but I too hate to see people banned. I also have great pride in authorship of my own blog and might get aggravated if I felt someone was trying to hijack it. Emphasis on what I felt ... because I often rankle at the printed word and later find out I missed the boat by taking something personal that wasn't. I am a bit deaf to sarcasm sometimes and I get too literal. Picture a hippy Spock frowning. It would be nice if we could "all just get along" but I don't have a striped shirt or whistle and I sure don't know the rules well enough to referee!
