We all know of the problems with higher taxes and D150's problems, but has anyone been keeping tabs on Chicago?
Not only are their sales and property taxes huge, now hizzoner, Mayor Daley II (squeaky) has now guaranteed to the IIOC that the city will pick up the tab on any cost overages from hosting the Olympics.
Given that the construction of Millenium Park was waaaaay over budget, I'm sure this one will come in right on target. I'm also sure that no one that is related to or buddies with Mayor Daley will profit from any part of this.
That has big-time train wreck potential, given that Montreal just paid off their bills for hosting the Olympics......in 1976!
