District 150

I've haven't done any checking, but is the way this school system is run locally a reflection of school systems overall? Or is this a case of extremely bad management on a local level?

My wife read the whistleblower article today and she said "That's reason enough to move out of Peoria".

It's mind boggling how it's just one thing after another with this crew.

That's where my problem with this museum starts. If you really want Peoria to be a successful city where young families are going to put down roots, than this school system has to be improved. I don't know why our officials can't see that. A new museum, ballpark, Riverplex, hotel or Technology Center isn't going to change that basic fact.

Schools and safe neighborhoods are the cake, everything else is the icing.

Sadly, it seems to be reversed in Peoria.

UPDATE: Just opened up our property tax bill for this year. Our cost for the greatness that is 150?............an increase of $159.58 !!!! Does the phrase "paid circus" mean anything?

UPDATE II: Check out the Pundit's site for another nauseating story on how the public audit done at Lindbergh showed a "clean bill of health" while one of the employees named in the "whistleblower" lawsuit was principal there. And convienently, Clifton Gunderson doesn't want to release this report claiming that the reports are their property.

I would like to make a prediction: When the s##t hits the fan on this mess, King Hinton will gracefully take retirement and ride off into the sunset with his fat pension.

I told my Cardinal fan buddy at the beginning of this series that the Birds would sweep.

He disagreed with me.

As a Cub fan, I've watched them long enough to tell when things just aren't going to go their way.

And this is one of those years.

I was curious about the attendees of the "tea party" in Peoria: How many of the people protesting actually voted to raise their own taxes for a museum?

The city of Chicago, which has bad roads, a bad school system and is short of cash, is under the impression that one of the cure-alls is to dump money into hosting the Olympics.

Got to hand it to the "Build the Block"ers......it worked.

By an overwhelming 50.7 - 49.3 percent vote, the next "big new thing" might be on it's way. Oh, after the 11 million shortfall is thrown in the till.

Get out and vote!!!!!

Needless to say, turnout was pretty light at my polling place.

There were more election workers than people voting.

Hopefully, everyone gets out and lets their voice be heard.
